DXL Script for customize template & mathematical calculation

Dear All,

I have to add FMEA and Hazard analysis in DOORS V9.5 for medical product. Regarding the same I have some questions as following:

1.) I want to add template of FMEA and Hazard analysis into DOORS V9.5 and based on my study I came to know customize template can be created by DXL scripting only in V9.5 of DOORS. Can anyone please confirm my understanding? If it is true then please let me knwo the process of creating new template and also share the sample script or if anyone has done the same.

2.) I want to create some customize attributes also which can help me to link my FMEA on the basis of its Hazard automatically. can anyone share idea or the sample script if already created ?

3.) How add mathematical formula for an specific attribute, Which takes values from another attributes and done the calculation. (i.e. I have created/added attribute A and  B which has data type of float and integer respectively, Now If I want to have an attribute C which multiplies values of A and B and add it automatically into C)

It will be good If will get response/suggestion by tomorrow.

Hi

I've just finished an FMEA-Projekt in Doors. This is a set of working processes supported by a set of say 15-20 dxl-scripts containing about 5.000 lines of hardly problem specific code supported by a common library of nearly the same size. There is no simple answer which can be post in a forum like this.

To implement a real FMEA-Solution we speak about a project of 3-12 months.

Hi,

Thanks for your information.

I have managed somehow with point  No.1 and point No.2, But point No. 3 is still unresolved for me. I will explain my basic problem statement below with one simple example:

  1. Is it possible to copy content of one attribute to another attribute automatically across different modules.

For example: I have 2 modules A and B.

  • Module A has attribute Roll no and Marks
  • Module B has attribute Class, Roll No, Name, Marks, Total and Percentage
  • Module A looks like below table
    Roll No Marks
    1 80
    2 85
  • Module B Looks like below table
Class Roll No. Marks Total Marks Percentage
    7 2 85 100 85
    7 1 80 100 80
  • Attribute "Roll No." & "Marks" is common between  both Modules --> Now, if I will write value "2" for "Roll No." in Module B it automatically takes value 85 from Module A and update the same  for "Marks" into Module B. (I want Code to search for Roll No. into Module A and once it founds the roll no., it should take value assigned for "Marks"  and paste it into Module B against Roll No: 2)
  • If I will update the value of "Marks" into Module A afterwards, same should be reflected into Module B also.
  • DXL script is written for calculating percentage --> So ultimately percentage will also get updated after modification in marks. (My Goal is to update the Percentage filed of Module B automatically after any update in Marks of Module A)

Please let me know if any thing can be done for this problem.
